Trade Trak vs Tradify

An alternative to Tradify

Let's see how they compare...

Trade Trak and Tradify are both web-based trade management apps. The Tradify software offers two options for their users; their base plan and Tradify Pro. However, only the base Tradify app has pricing listed, so for the purpose of this article, we have chosen this for the comparison.

Tradify offers its users a mobile app and full accounting integrations, which is unmatched by Trade Trak. However, Trade Trak offers additional features such as Report Builder, SWMS, and the ability to take automatic in-app payments.

Feature Comparison

On Trade Trak, you pay $1 per job and get access to all of the features on the app. Tradify is $35 per month for each user on your account. If you have over 9 users, you can contact Tradify to arrange a reduced price.

Number of Staff

Trade Trak allows you to have an unlimited number of users at no extra cost. On Tradify, you’re limited by your budget for each month, as each user is an additional cost.

On Trade Trak, you can easily add a subcontractor to your account for just the cost of one job – that’s $1. Subcontractors can be added jobs, and have limited access to details and features. On Tradify, when creating a job, you can add an email address for a subcontractor and they will receive the job number, address, customer details, site details, job description and any tasks, but they will not have access to the app.

Customisable Permissions

Both apps allow you to edit permission settings. On Tradify, you’re able to set an individual user’s permissions when setting their account up. On Trade Trak, you can set the permissions for each user role (e.g admin, supervisor, user).

Customer Portal

Neither app currently offers a portal or equivalent for customers to access information.

Quoting & Invoicing

Both apps offer advanced quoting and invoicing options, with the ability for approval, and to add signatures, notes and attachments.

Manual Payments

Users of both apps can record manual payments made via bank deposit, cash or credit card. Companies on Trade Trak can also add credit notes.

Automatic In-App Payments

When you connect your Stripe account with Trade Trak, you’re able to take automatic in-app credit card payments. Tradify does not have any automatic payment options.

Both apps allow companies to schedule jobs and users. On Trade Trak, the in-app scheduler can also be integrated with external calendars.

Tradify timesheets operate similarly to Trade Trak’s. On both apps, users can enter hours and assign them to jobs, add your billing rate and add notes. On Tradify you can assign entires to tasks, and on Trade Trak you’re able to assign them to non-job items.

Trade Trak allows admins to create SWMS templates for users to complete when on the job-site. Tradify does not have this feature.

Report Builder

On Trade Trak, reports that are commonly used for a company can be created from scratch to be completed when needed (e.g. job completion reports). This is not a feature that Tradify currently has.

File Attachment

Both apps allow you to attach files to quotes, invoices, jobs, etc. However, through Tradify, this can only be done by adding notes.

On Trade Trak, you’re able to annotate any file that is uploaded, this includes adding text or drawings. Tradify does not offer this feature.

Both apps allow users to create tasks for jobs. However, Tradify is limited to that. Trade Trak allows users to create stand-alone tasks, or create them from quotes, invoices, reports and more.

On Trade Trak, you can select statuses from drop-down menus for all jobs, quotes and invoices. On Tradify, these features are automatically assigned statuses which can be reset, but functionality is restricted.

Customisable Statuses

Trade Trak allows you to create statuses that are completely custom for your company, so instead of draft, approved, etc., you can have what works for you. As Tradify’s status usage is already limited, the app does not have this feature.

On Tradify, customers signatures can only be captured on the mobile app, for job sheets. On Trade Trak, signatures can be captured for users or for customers on quotes, invoices, reports and SWMS.

Accounting Integrations

Tradify offers Xero, Quickbooks and MYOB Essentials & AccountRight for accounting integrations at no extra cost to the user. Trade Trak offers a one way integration with Xero, where data such as clients and invoices can be pushed to the software, and also offers data exports for MYOB.

Mobile App

Tradify offers its users a mobile app which has the same features. Trade Trak does not currently have this feature.

Offline Access

Neither app currently works offline. Trade Trak and both of Tradify’s web and phone apps require internet connections.

Activity Feed

Trade Trak shows users an activity feed on their dashboard, so that updates to all the jobs they have been added to are shown chronologically.

Knowledge Base

Both apps offer knowledge base articles to help their users in managing the features of the app.

Support Videos

Both Trade Trak and Tradify offer instructional videos to help with training users.

Live Support

Trade Trak offers an in-app chat function which allows users to chat instantly with the team. Tradify has an in-app help request feature, but it is not live.
